I know I’m not alone, many countdown the rainy spring days in anticipation of the warm summer sun.
Maybe it was growing up spending every June through August with my bare feet dug into the sand—breathing in the salty Atlantic Ocean breeze.
But, being near the ocean somehow always seems to bring my thoughts around to God. Sitting in a niche in the dunes that the wind hasn’t yet found, looking out over the constant surf, and listening to its ascending and descending roar… it’s where I find it easiest to hear God’s voice.
Fortunately, you don’t have to be next to an ocean to hear Him speak—that of course could be anywhere, anytime. And, so often for me, the Lord speaks through music.
…a song on the car radio, something sung in church that week, even a tune blaring from my son’s iPod. I’m convinced that God loves to communicate! And He is SO creative in how He chooses to do so.
But, when He does so… well, everything else pales in comparison. Jesus told His disciples, “My sheep hear My voice…”
I ask you; what could be better than to hear the voice of the One who created you—Who created the universe?!
When He speaks to my heart, it’s like summer to me.
I treasure each time I hear from the Lord, and—like Mary—I store up those experiences, so I can remember them when I need to, or when it seems like God is silent for a while.
I pray that you will hear His voice today—in whatever way He chooses to speak—may it be a warm summer embrace to you.
I would be remiss if I didn’t thank you for listening to ElijahStreams iRadio, and for supporting this ministry in prayer and giving.
We are so grateful to you, and thankful for the One about Whom we sing.
